CHICKEN POX
 
Fun & Info @ Keralites.net Chicken pox is a highly contagious disease affecting mostly children and sometimes adults also. The rash appears on the body 2 days after the person gets infected. It mainly occurs during winter and spring season. The duration of this disease ranges from ten to twenty-one days but is usually between fourteen and seventeen days.
 
How is it spread?
Chickenpox spreads easily. It is most contagious the day before the rash appears.
       It spreads from person to person through direct contact with the virus. You can get chickenpox if you touch a blister, or the liquid from a blister. You can also get chickenpox if you touch the spit of a person who has chickenpox. The virus enters the body by the nose or mouth and can make you sick also.
       It can also spread through the air, if you are near someone with chickenpox who is coughing or sneezing.
       A pregnant woman with chickenpox can pass it on to her baby before birth.
       Mothers with chickenpox can also give it to their newborn babies after birth.
Causes of Chicken Pox

Following are the major chicken pox causes:
1. Virus infection
2. Wrong feeding of children

Symptoms of Chicken Pox:
1.. Red, itchy skin rash that usually appears first on the abdomen or back and face, and then spreads to almost everywhere else on the body, including the scalp, mouth, nose, ears and genitals.
2. Low grade fever
3. Mild headache and weakness
4. fever
5.Sore throat
 
Chicken Pox Treatment and Advice

1. Take Raw fruit, vegetable juices and lemon juice.
2. Keep the patient in a well-ventilated room.
3. Lukewarm water baths can be given every day to relieve itching. 
4. Pure honey smeared on the scabs helps in clearing up scars
5. Another way to clear scars quickly is to apply Vitamin E oil on the affected areas
