Olympic Tower – Rio de Janeiro

When first looking at the photos you could think they are from a Si-Fi movie. Well, that’s not the case because this tower will be ready by 2016 when the Olympic games will start. The tower will be placed in Cotonduba Island as both a welcome sign for the visitors arriving by air and by sea at Rio de Janeiro, and also an observation tower. The entire structure is autonomous, as the electricity needed to power it up will come either from the sun or the surrounding water’s movement.
The tower will host a number of shops, auditoriums and cafeterias, some of which will be placed under the giant waterfall. Also near the top of the structure, a bungee jumping platform will be installed for those seeking a good dose of adrenaline.
